Julius Thelen studies horticulture science in Berlin. He explains what he loves about the African milk tree cactus.
I’m a big Fan of the Euphorbia trigona! The Euphorbia trigona, better known as the African milk tree, is a succulent with spiky triangular branches which grow small leaves. I totally dig their unusual, almost bizarre, architectural look. I got my first Euphorbia trigona as a gift from work friends during my first internship, and they have been with me ever since. I’ve also successfully propagated them, so I have a few of them now.
If you have one, remember to water Euphorbia trigona infrequently but abundantly. You know that the plant is happy when it grows leaves.
