INFORMATION
Soil, together with light, water and temperature, determines whether and how your green roommates thrive. Your plants should not only be in the right place at home, but above all in the right soil that supplies them with water, oxygen and nutrients and provides support. There is no perfect basic recipe for all plants, the composition of the individual components varies depending on the needs of the plant and your care habits. Commercial potting soil with a small drainage layer of clay granules can be a solution. But that’s better!
What you need
Step 1/6
Spray the perlite lightly with water and fill a measuring unit into the mixing tray. Perlite increases the air storage capacity and provides long-lasting structural stability. If you tend to water too much, increase the amount of perlite.
Step 2/6
Soak coconut fibers or spaghnum moss in water and add half a measuring unit. They increase the water storage capacity. If you tend to water too little, increase the dose slightly.
