What does the hub do?

Access your plant data from anywhere, anytime

Without the hub, you need to be within Bluetooth range to retrieve the data from the beam. With the hub, you have access to your plants’ data anytime, anywhere. You can use the app to monitor the condition of your plants in real time, whether you are at home, in the office or on holiday. All you need is a stable internet connection. So you’ll always be informed, no matter where you are.

Automatic synchronisation
The hub ensures that all data is updated regularly every hour. Even if the internet connection is interrupted, the data is stored locally and transferred later as soon as the connection is restored. This means you always have the latest information to hand.

Immediate push notifications
The app notifies you as soon as one of your plants needs care. Be it water, fertiliser or other measures – you will be informed immediately via push notification. This allows you to react quickly and ensure that your plants are always optimally cared for or that your neighbours take the best possible care of your plants.

Simple set-up: plug-and-play
The hub is extremely user-friendly. As soon as it is connected to your app and the Wi-Fi network, it automatically starts collecting all the data from the plant sensors within its range without you having to set anything manually.

Power supply
The hub is operated via a power supply unit. If the power fails, the data is saved and synchronised as soon as the power supply is restored

Compatibility
The hub is compatible with the popular smart home platforms Homey, Home Assistant and IFTTT. Further integrations are planned.

What is the range of the hub?

According to the standard, Bluetooth has a range of up to 50 metres with “unrestricted visibility”. In certain cases, however, this range may be limited.

In this flat layout, the hub is located in the living room. There are three plants in direct line of sight of the hub. There are also plants on the balcony. However, the connection here can be impaired by the thermal insulation glazing and the walls, similar to the office. There, walls and additional electronic devices are also potential sources of interference.

Troubleshooting: Problems with the hub and what you can do

If your hub loses the connection or problems occur with a beam, there may be various reasons for this. Here you will find simple solutions to restore the connection.

What you can do:

  2. Check Wi-Fi: Reconnect your Hub to a network.
  3. Set up the hub again: If all else fails, remove your Hub from the app and reconnect it.

The hub loses the connection to a beam (Beam Settings)

What you can do:

  1. Check the range: The connection to a Beam can be interrupted if the plant is relocated. Therefore, simply place the plant near the hub again to re-establish the connection.
  2. Battery empty: Check the battery status of the Beam in the app and replace it if necessary.
  3. Short-term blockage: If none of the above reasons apply, the connection should automatically re-establish itself and you do not need to do anything. Check the hub connection again in an hour if necessary.
